Eyelash Extension Care Instructions
Lynk-Gel® Method offers you the freedom to use products that contain oil and the ability to get them wet immediately, so know that you’re not restricted when getting lashes by a certified Lynk-Gel® artist.
Brush and groom your lashes gently with a disposable mascara wand. A new brush will be given to you at every appointment. You may use a fan to dry and fluff your lashes after getting them wet. It’s also a good idea to brush throughout the day to keep them from crossing or grouping together.
Lash soap is available for purchase at your initial appointment. Wash your extensions to keep them free from make-up and natural oils. For the best retention, I ask that my clients wash their extensions at least every other day. If you are a heavy make-up wearer, please wash your eyelashes more frequently.
Try to sleep on your back or side to avoid smashing your lashes as you sleep. There are items available for purchase to help with protecting your eyelash extensions. I personally enjoy using my "40 Blinks" sleep mask and “Save My Face” pillow to ensure that my lashes are not rubbing on my pillow during the night. A silk pillowcase is also recommended.
Treat your eyes gently – as if you have make-up on that you don’t want to smudge.
Remember to schedule your fill appointment in advance and try to do your touch ups every 2-3 weeks.
Now…for the things to avoid!
Do not perm or tint lashes after lash extension application
Do not use a regular eyelash curler o curl extensions (consult with me if they’re not curly enough)
Do not rub your eyes or lashes when washing your face. Clean around the eyes with a soft cloth like a make-up wipe. Avoid terry cloth/loop materials.
Remove eye make-up in the same manner as above using extra caution around extensions.
Do not pull your lash extensions as it will take out your own natural lash as well or cause trauma to the hair follicle.
Do not try to remove the extensions on your own. Please call me for a removal appointment to avoid harm to the natural lashes.
Do not apply mascara on your extensions unless it’s NovaLash Mascara. Available for purchase on JLS. Ideally only to be used when necessary for event or just prior to fill appointment to reduce sparseness.
Do not cut the extensions (you may accidently cut your natural lash!)
Never tug, twist, pick or pull at your lashes or extensions, this will cause trauma to the natural lash and release the extension.
